Tutorials

In addition to ELP courses, several types of tutorials are available for language support. The following tutoring options are available to nonnative English speaking members of the Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) community and St. Louis community.

Purpose To provide weekly one-on-one help with an ongoing writing project or continuing pronunciation work To provide occasional or one-time help with writing or speaking in relation to a particular writing project (e.g., a Writing 1 paper, a conference proposal) or speaking situation (e.g., a job interview) To provide weekly one-on-one or small group instruction in specialized language skills not covered in ELP courses
Prerequisite Completing or testing out of applicable ELP courses None; individuals may be referred to an ELP course if they require more than occasional help Needs analysis by the ELP determining that the individual has discipline-specific language needs that cannot be fulfilled in ELP courses
