Need to talk to someone? “Let’s Talk” has counselor available at OISS Friday afternoons
A counselor will now be available for brief, convenient consultations at the OISS offices in Stix International House every Friday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. (Additional times are available Tuesday through Thursday at other locations on campus. Any student can visit any of the four locations.)
Let’s Talk provides brief, confidential consultations (15-20 minutes), where students can come talk to counselors from the office of Mental Health Services. Consultations are free and are provided on a walk-in basis (no appointment is needed).
Although the Let’s Talk program is not meant as a substitute for the regular counseling that is provided by Mental Health Services, it can be a convenient resource for students who may need to consult “from time-to-time” with a counselor who can listen and provide “support, perspective, and suggestions for resources.” If you have never spoken with a counselor before, Let’s Talk can provide a good opportunity for you to see what it’s like.
