Discover St. Louis

The Office for International Students and Scholars warmly welcomes you to the university campus community and the neighborhoods of St. Louis that surround it. The Discover St. Louis program is an introduction for undergraduates entering in the fall to the people, places, resources and activities that will help you succeed both academically and socially.

The Discover program begins August 21, 2018. Students should plan to arrive on August 20 or the morning of August 21 (before noon).

Please note: New international first-year students coming to Washington University in St. Louis from outside of the U.S. are required to participate in Explore.

Enrollment

Discover is geared toward exchange students, transfer students and first-year international students with experience living and studying in the U.S.

The enrollment form must be completed by July 14, 2018.

Arrival

You MUST inform the OISS of your arrival information using our online arrival form. You should plan to arrive in St. Louis on Monday, August 20, 2018 or on the morning of August 21, 2018 (before noon).

Program Details

Housing

Students enrolled in Discover and living on campus will move into campus housing upon arrival. Students living off-campus are responsible for arranging their own housing for the duration of the Discover program. Students who register after July 14, 2018 are also responsible for arranging their own housing for the duration of the Discover program.

Cost

$75 nonrefundable fee for students who enroll by July 14, 2018. A $50 late fee will be charged to those who enroll after the deadline. Late fees will be charged to your WashU student account.

Payment

The nonrefundable program fee will be charged to your WashU student account. This means the program fee will be added to your WashU bill, along with tuition and other fees. The WashU student account does not require set-up. Every WashU student has the account created upon admission.
