International stipend recipients and other foreign nationals needing to apply for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) are invited to attend this workshop with OISS.
During the workshop, OISS staff will certify the identity and foreign status documents of attendees as required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the ITIN application. Attendees will then be able to mail in their application materials rather than applying in-person with the Taxpayer Assistance Center.
Before the workshop, complete the following:
- Immigration Check-In through MyOISS (must have been processed by OISS staff)
- Form W-7 (Complete as much as possible; we can answer questions about the form during the workshop)
Attendance is limited to 30. Advanced registration is required. Register via Calendly.
Location: Alumni House, Room 136
Bring the following original documents AND copies to the workshop:
- Passport (original)
- Visa stamp (original)
- Most recent I-94 (printed copy)
- Your most recent Form I-20 (must be continued attendance) or DS-2019
- Stipend letter from WashU
- To have the application ready for submission, you should also bring a printed-out copy of your passport biographical page and visa stamp.
At the end of the workshop, OISS will issue you a letter, which you will need to include with your ITIN application materials. We will also provide next step instructions.
