In addition to orientation events scheduled by individual schools and departments, the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) and Office for International Engagement (OISE) provide orientation to all new international graduate students who begin a WashU program at the beginning of each semester.
Welcome & Orientation
This orientation is specific to international graduate students (master’s, doctoral and professional students). Graduate Student Orientation is designed to provide an overview of pertinent immigration regulations and student responsibilities that international students should know about and follow during their stay in the U.S. and while in their program at WashU.
Spring 2025 Orientation
All admitted F-1/J-1 international students should complete the required F-1/J-1 Student Immigration course prior to arrival to WashU. This online course will answer many of the questions new students have prior to arrival. After completing the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion, which is required for your immigration check-in with the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) upon arrival to campus for your initial semester at WashU. This is a required course.
A virtual “F-1 Immigration Essentials” workshop will offered in Spring 2025. All new Spring 2025 F-1 students are encouraged to attend. More information will be posted here as the date gets closer.
