MyOISS is a technology platform used by WashU’s Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) to assist and interact with F-1 and J-1 students throughout their time as a student at WashU and beyond.

MyOISS is the primary tool you will use to request and access immigration documents and to maintain your immigration status while under sponsorship of WashU. This platform is essential for managing your immigration documents, creating requests with OISS and reporting required immigration information to the U.S. government. It will also help you navigate university policies and federal regulations related to your F or J student immigration status.

Accessing MyOISS for newly admitted students

After your academic admission to WashU, international students will work with their admitting
department to electronically submit documentation required for issuance of an immigration document (I-20 or DS-2019). Follow the link to apply for your I-20 or DS-2019 on our website.

Before gaining access

  • Work with your admitting department to submit the required documents. Each department will provide you with specific instructions on how to submit these documents electronically directly to your department contact.Do not email these documents directly to OISS or attempt to submit them via the MyOISS platform.
  • After you successfully submit all required documents to your admitting department, the department contact will upload your documents to the MyOISS platform and inform OISS.
  • OISS will review the submitted documents to determine eligibility for issuance of an immigration document (I-20 for prospective F-1 status or DS-2019 for prospective J-1 status), which is necessary for applying for an F-1 or J-1 student visa.
  • If eligible, OISS will issue the immigration document (I-20 or DS-2019). You will then receive an email notification once this document is issued, and you’ll also be granted access to the MyOISS platform.

Access MyOISS platform

OISS will send you an email notifying you of your access to the MyOISS platform, where you will be able to download your immigration document. Details on how to log in and access your immigration document will be provided to you via email, but please keep the following in mind.

Most students will need to use their personal email address to log into MyOISS. Use the email address you provided during the admissions process. If the MyOISS invitation email is sent to your WashU @wustl.edu email address, use the WUSTL Login button instead.

Download and print your immigration document

Your Form I-20 or DS-2019 will be available in the “Requests and Documents” tab of your MyOISS profile. Follow the instructions provided in the email and download, print and sign (in ink) your I-20 or DS-2019.

Using MyOISS post-admission

After you have been admitted and after you have accessed MyOISS for your initial immigration document, you will continue to use your MyOISS account during your studies and even after graduation (if applicable).

Upon arrival, you will use MyOISS to check in with OISS. You will then use MyOISS to request and receive immigration benefits while enrolled and after your graduation. For example, you will use MyOISS to request the following benefits:

You can track drafted and submitted requests and find your newly issued I-20s or DS-2019s in MyOISS. Once you have an account, take some time to explore your MyOISS account to understand how to access and submit requests. We also use MyOISS to send you important immigration updates and reminders. This communication is saved in MyOISS and is also sent to your WashU email account. Check your email regularly so that you don’t miss any important reminders!

Note: We recommend that you save copies of all immigration documents outside of MyOISS. OISS is not required to retain copies of these documents indefinitely, so it is essential that you have your own copies of all documents.
