J-1 Scholar Travel Signature Request

All J-1 Exchange Visitors must have a valid travel signature (endorsement) on their DS-2019 to enter the U.S.

If you are requesting an DS-2019 for travel, please be aware of the following:
• You are only required to have a travel signature/endorsement to return to the U.S. You are not required to have a travel signature/endorsement to depart the U.S.
• J-1 Exchange Visitors must sign their DS-2019 in ink.
• Travel signatures are valid for 12 months, or the DS-2019 end date (whichever date is first) for J-1 Student Interns, Professors and Research Scholars
• Travel signatures are valid for 6 months, or the DS-2019 end date (whichever date is first) for J-1 Short Term Scholars
